Having control over these accounts is extremely important. Under certain scenarios, you might assign them to other individuals who will be responsible for managing the websites hosted under them. You still need to be able to restrict access to them, however, because ultimately, you’re the owner of the VPS.
As such, you also have to ensure that the projects on your server are well-protected. Because of this, SPanel gives you the option of easily changing user accounts’ passwords.
Changing accounts’ passwords in SPanel
There are many reasons why you might want to change an SPanel user account’s password. However, there’s only one way to do it. It’s pretty simple, as well. Here are the steps:
- Log into SPanel’s Admin Interface.
The default login URL is https://[your server’s IP]/spanel. This is where you control everything related to the SPanel accounts hosted on your server.
- Click the Actions button next to the account you want to modify and select Change Password.
On the homepage, you’ll see a list of all the SPanel user accounts hosted on your server. Next to each one of them, there’s an Actions drop-down menu. Open it and select Change Password.
- Pick a new password and save the changes.
The new password must be at least 8-characters long and will ideally include uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. You can use the provided password generator to pick a truly strong and random password for your account. When you’re done, click Change to save the changes.
